Therapy is a place to better understand yourself, work through what is getting in the way, and create meaningful change.

Therapy at Life Well Dunn

Sometimes you know exactly what you're struggling with. Other times, you just know something doesn't feel right. You may be used to pushing through, staying productive, training harder, taking care of everyone else, or simply finding ways to keep moving forward. Therapy creates space to slow down, better understand what's happening beneath the surface, and begin creating meaningful change.

At Life Well Dunn, I believe our mental, emotional, relational, and physical experiences are deeply connected. What we experience can shape how we think and feel, how we relate to others, how our bodies respond to stress, and how we move through the world. Because of that, therapy is never one-size-fits-all. My goal is to meet you where you are and tailor the process to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT®): A Different Way to Create Change

Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT®)is the primary therapeutic approach I use in my practice.

As an ETT Complex Trauma Certified Therapist, I use this brain-based modality to help individuals work through emotional distress, trauma, attachment-related difficulties, and patterns that don't always change through insight or conversation alone.

While understanding ourselves is important, there are times when talking simply isn't enough. ETT works with the connection between the brain, nervous system, emotions, and body, helping create new emotional experiences that support meaningful and lasting change.

ETT may be integrated into treatment for:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Attachment and relationship difficulties

  • ADHD and OCD

  • Eating disorders and weight loss

  • Chronic pain

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

  • Cancer and autoimmune-related emotional distress

  • Grief and loss

  • Performance anxiety

  • Identity concerns

  • And many other emotional and behavioral challenges

While ETT is central to my work, therapy is always individualized. Depending on your goals and needs, our work may also incorporate CBT, ACT, DBT, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, breathing, movement, and other evidence-informed approaches that best support your growth and healing.

Out of Network Provider:

Life Well Dunn is an out of network provider (OON). There are costs and benefits to accepting services with OON providers. Health insurance companies may or may not reimburse counseling services with an OON provider. However, some benefits to working with an OON provider entail the provider's ability to craft a fitting treatment plan that best serves clients' needs and goals (services are not restricted to specific counseling approaches to address predetermined problems), enhanced privacy (we are not required to provide diagnostic codes, clinical information such as treatment plans, summaries, or copies of client records to insurance companies), and often, clients have quicker access to treatment (advanced authorization is waived, and fewer waitlists).

Superbills:

Life Well Dunn provides Superbills upon client request for clients to submit to their insurance.

No Surprise Act:

As of January 2022, the 'No Surprise Act' became effective for healthcare providers to increase price transparency; thereby, reducing surprise medical bills. This Act requires healthcare providers to provide a 'good faith estimate' of the costs for a scheduled service or upon request prior to services for individuals who are either uninsured or aren't planning to submit a claim to their insurance for the services they’re seeking. *This is not a contract* For more information regarding the No Surprise Act legislation please visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
